NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
Six future commanders of Defense Logistics Agency major subordinate commands visited the Defense Department’s largest military warehouse, the Eastern Distribution Center, March 12.
The officers are currently attending the Army’s Sustainment Pre-Command Course and this visit gives them an opportunity to gain valuable insight into logistics management and sustainment operations.
Prior to their walking tour, Army Col. Sam Miller, commander of DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, presented a command overview of the center’s operations and business practices.
During the tour the officers witnessed the center’s day-to-day operations learned of current modernization renovation efforts underway.
Of the six Army officers that visited, two are slated to become distribution center commanders later this year. Lt. Col. Brandon Ebel is scheduled to take command at DLA Distribution Anniston, Alabama, and Lt. Col. Michael Zdrojesky will take command at DLA Distribution Europe. Change of command dates are still to be determined.
