Second quarter DLA Energy employees awards

Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander Navy Capt. Brian Anderson announced DLA Energy’s second quarter, fiscal year 2024 military, civilian and strategic goals employees of the quarter. These members will go on to compete across the entire agency in the DLA Quarterly Military and Employee Recognition Program.

“Thank you for your commitment to the mission and the warfighters,” Anderson said. “Your meticulous stewardship, excellent customer service and innovative problem solving are what make DLA Energy a world-class global team.”

Field Grade Officer Category:

Air Force Maj. Timothy Truong is an operations officer for DLA Energy Americas East. He earned the award for his role facilitating key leader engagements and forums for strengthened strategic partnerships to include Capt. Anderson’s U.S. Southern Command visit and the 2024 Joint Petroleum Seminar. He spearheaded operations for Exercise Vigilant Shield for coordinated fuel inputs and requests for information responses that’s key to addressing future DLA challenges.

Company Grade Officer Category:

Air Force Capt. Christopher Lindsay is a plans and operations officer for DLA Energy Korea. He earned the award for his role in expert correspondence of the bulk fuel supply chain contributing to quality fuel use for Defense Department personnel. His contingency operations and reediness skills include pivotal planner and battle captain execution during the Freedom Shield 24 and the annual Courageous Channel exercise.

Senior NCO Category

Air Force Master Sgt. Jeffrey Halda is a quality assurance representation for DLA Energy Korea. He earned the award for his coordination between inventory control points and military customers on a theater-wide spectrum. His contributions liaising with the world’s leading petroleum suppliers ensured the safe and timely delivery of fuel supporting six nations within the U.S. Indo-Pacific region.

Category B Civilian (GS/WG/WL 7-12):

Michael McKiver is a management analyst for DLA Energy Korea. He earned the award for his customer service and management of fuel resources ensuring large-scale delivery operations of Post Camp and Station products. His role in supporting emerging fuel requirements, knowledge dissemination, and instructing is key to providing an understanding of DLA Energy processes and fuel ordering procedures.

Category C Civilian (GS13-15/WS):

Raul Garcia is the DLA Energy Indo-Pacific South-West deputy director. He earned the award for his role spearheading administrative and operational changes for improved organizational alignment. He was also instrumental in leading the preparations of several large-scale exercises throughout the Southwest Pacific in Spring 2024, including BALIKATAN, COPE THUNDER, AGILE REAPER and VALIENT SHIELD which was critical to operational success.

DLA Director's Strategic Goals Team Award:

DLA Energy Europe and Africa team earned the award for their oversight of fuel storage and throughput spanning two continents. The team drove strengthening efforts for warfighters in support of the Ukraine crisis to deter Russian aggression by enabling warfighter pre-deployment training. The team also played a key role in providing fuel for a NATO Armed Forces exercise that contributed to essential mission readiness and NATO partnerships.
