Members of the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas team were recognized Feb. 3 for their efforts last year in reducing Department of the Army suspended stock enabling readiness of the warfighter by ensuring a constant reserve of serviceable material is available.

During a site visit, Army Col. Karl Sondermann, military deputy to Brian Wood, U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command Logistics Center Director, presented almost 20 employees Senior Executive Services Notes of Recognition for their efforts enabling Army supply availability, readiness, and supported active maintenance programs to ensure continued success to the Warfighter.

During Fiscal Year 2024, DoD issued a mandate to inspect service owned material in storage for Care of Stock in Storage discrepancies. Upon inspection, the DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas team identified items owned by AMCOM that required remediation, mainly in large, specialized MOP 50 containers. “Once we received the directive to help, our Preservation, Packaging, Packing and Marking team quickly developed a feasible plan of action to tackle the remediation,” said Army Lt. Col. Tim Owens, commander, DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas. “This herculean effort was significant and speaks to the level of innovation and determination that this team puts into their work every day.”
