By Dominique Shelton DLA Weapons Support (Richmond) Public Affairs Office

Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support at Oklahoma City embraced the Halloween spirit for the third consecutive year, delivering more than 500 goodie-filled bags to employees across 11 buildings, boosting morale throughout its workforce.

A team of dedicated volunteers walked an estimated five miles navigating the Weapons Support at OKC spaces on Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to personally deliver treats to every member of the OKC team.

“Our people are always our top priority,” said Air Force Lt. Col. Allen Miller, Weapons Support at OKC commander. “This event is a fun way to show our appreciation for their hard work and dedication, especially as we work tirelessly to meet our customers’ needs providing support to the warfighter.”

The event garnered smiles and bolstered good energy throughout the organization.

According to Richard Schwing, Weapons Support at OKC deputy commander, events like this are essential for fostering a positive work environment, boosting morale and promoting a sense of camaraderie among employees.

“Ultimately, a happy and engaged workforce contributes directly to enhanced readiness and mission success,” Schwing said.

“These types of programs are crucial,” Miller said. “They demonstrate that we value our employees, which translates into a more focused and productive team. When our people feel appreciated, they are better equipped to support the mission of ensuring our customers receive the support they need.”

Weapons Support at OKC looks forward to continuing this tradition which showcases employee appreciation, for years to come, further reinforcing its commitment to its people and providing unwavering support.

“Our commitment to ‘People, Precision, Posture and Partnership’ isn’t just a motto for us but a way of life,” said Shalane Gordon-Scott, Weapons Support at OKC chief of staff.
