NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Bahrain leadership held a ceremony to commemorate the official transition of Material Processing Center operations from Al Hidd to DLA Distribution Bahrain onboard Naval Support Activity Bahrain Nov. 2.
The transition, led by Navy Cmdr. Joshua Langhorne, commander, DLA Distribution Bahrain, is part of a strategic reposition effort for DLA Distribution within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.
“This transition strengthens our ability to support the warfighter with greater efficiency and agility,” Langhorne said. “This ensures continued, unparalleled support to the U.S. Navy.”
During his remarks to the DLA Distribution Bahrain team, Langhorne emphasized the importance of the transition in strengthening operational efficiency for the distribution center. He also recognized the contributions of the Continuing Government Activity team, who now manage the Material Processing Center.
“This is proud milestone achieved through teamwork, dedication and commitment,” Langhorne said. “This benchmark reflects the agency’s continued commitment to operational excellence through strategic posturing and strengthening alliances and partnerships in the region.”
