PHILADELPHIA –
New hires often have big questions and during a New Employee town hall, Feb. 4, the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Deputy Commander made it clear that he is ready to listen.
“People are our number one asset,” Christopher Mosher said. “I am simply here to help. I am here to help all of you be successful.”
Attendees at the town hall included all Pathways to Career Excellence participants and direct hires who joined DLA Troop Support within the past two years.
During the town hall, Mosher highlighted opportunities for career progression, encouraged employees to get involved across the organization, and shared practical insights on navigating professional growth within DLA.
Build a good relationship with first line supervisors, be coachable, learn all aspects of the job, ask questions and seek mentorship, Mosher advised the attendees.
He also opened the floor for candid dialogue, inviting participants to share feedback and discuss how leadership can better assist with their transition into Troop Support.
“I want to hear from you,” he said. “The goal is better communication up and down the Command chain.”
Employees took the opportunity to share a variety of topics about how their transition was different that they expected, ask questions about the various career development opportunities, and shared their advice they would give to people interested in joining the Troop Support team.
The interactive exchange reinforced the command’s focus on engagement, development, and fostering an inclusive environment where new team members feel heard, valued, and empowered to succeed.
