FORT BELVOIR, Va. –
The Defense Logistics Agency is introducing a new tool for candidates to explore career opportunities and stay connected with hiring teams. Through a secure digital platform powered by Yello, individuals can share their resume for future consideration, apply for positions, and receive updates about upcoming events.
A key feature of the platform is its ability to support career fairs and similar engagements. For an event, job seekers can quickly upload their resume using a smartphone, tablet, or computer, creating a straightforward way to introduce themselves without completing the full federal application process. Resumes collected during these events are stored in the platform’s secured repository, allowing hiring teams to reference candidates’ information as needed during and after the event.
The addition of the DLA Job Board also gives candidates another way to express interest in DLA careers. It enhances the Agency’s presence at recruitment events by helping hiring teams stay connected with prospective applicants before, during, and after engagements. While the platform offers an additional avenue for engagement, it is intended to compliment – not replace – existing hiring processes.
“Integrating alternate tools reflects our commitment to building and maintaining a strong pipeline for prospective candidates,” said Tiffany Shively, assistant director of Human Resources Operations. “By leveraging digital platforms, like Yello, to improve candidate engagement, we can foster stronger relationships from the start and reach individuals who might not encounter our job opportunities through traditional channels. This approach supports our ongoing efforts to bring in people whose skills and values support the Agency’s mission.”
Although the DLA Job Board adds to the Agency’s recruitment tools, USAJOBS remains the official platform for federal hiring. Positions listed on the DLA Job Board are either existing roles available on USAJOBS or opportunities that allow candidates to apply directly through Yello under specific hiring authorities. The platform’s primary role at this time is to support career fairs and early-stage engagement, where candidates can share their resume and connect with hiring teams regularly.
At the Philadelphia job fair, DLA Troop Support leveraged the platform for the first time, allowing recruiters to capture resumes digitally, engage candidates face-to-face and maintain stronger connections with individuals interested in DLA mission-driven careers.
“Yello helped us engage talent strategically before, during, and after the Philadelphia Job Fair,” said Dalana Gonzalez, customer account manager, DLA Troop Support. “It streamlined resume collection, improved communication during a snowstorm, and allowed us to move qualified candidates forward immediately enhancing the overall candidate experience and strengthen our hiring process.”
As DLA continues to expand its recruitment efforts, job seekers are encouraged to stay connected. Individuals can follow DLA Careers on LinkedIn for updates on upcoming career fairs, new opportunities, and insights into Agency careers. Those interested in engaging with the DLA Job Board platform may register for events, join our talent network, or apply for positions.
