FORT BELVOIR, Va. –
The Defense Logistics Agency will host Department of War, industry and academia partners at its second annual 4D Symposium April 1-2 in Alexandria.
This year’s theme, “The Digital Pivot: Enhancing the Digital Ecosystem for the Future of Combat Logistics,” focuses on strategic priorities that will define future success: Driving transformation; ensuring digital interoperability; harnessing the power of data, analytics and artificial intelligence; and securing decision advantage.
The rapidly changing global environment demands that DLA and its partners act with speed and precision, said Eric Fegley, deputy director of DLA’s Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office.
“Our goal for the 4D Symposium is to create an environment for department, industry and academia leaders to connect and share ideas,” Fegley said. “It’s a collaborative transformation. We see this commitment to cooperation in agenda items like the industry best practices panel and the deep-dive discussion on automating warehouse operations, both designed to accelerate positive change.”
The chief information officer leader panel will tackle the challenges and chart the course for making seamless digital infrastructure a reality.
Attendees also will discuss how to advance AI with the necessary governance, maturity and foresight. Experts will host breakout sessions alongside exhibitors demonstrating cutting-edge tools that can turn data into insight.
Amy McGrath, a strategic planning analyst with DLA’s Chief of Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office, described the two-day event as a way to advance DLA’s digital transformation.
“It highlights our efforts to build a truly interoperable ecosystem, to harness the revolutionary power of AI and analytics and to deliver the decision advantage our nation requires,” McGrath said.
She added that attracting and retaining top talent is paramount to success in today’s competitive landscape.
“Our advancing talent acquisition and workforce development panel will help us collectively identify ways to recruit, develop and retain a workforce capable of supporting the digital transformation of combat logistics and ensure sustained mission readiness,” she said.
A 4D learning and development fireside chat will focus on cultivating a 4D-ready workforce by exploring educational pathways and learning opportunities to develop proficiency in data, analytics and AI.
Attendees are encouraged to register for the free, two-day event. For more information, contact the DLA 4D Symposium Planning Team.
