A property disposal expert known for problem-solving and customer advocacy across the reutilization community is a 2026 DLA Hall of Fame inductee.
Sherry Low’s federal government career spanned more than 40 years. She served in various roles across the agency and concluded her career as the head of the DLA Disposition Services Customer Support Division, retiring in 2020.
As division head, Low was responsible for the Reutilization, Transfer and Donation; Customer Relations; and Law Enforcement Support Office programs. From fiscal 2017 to 2019, the RTD program reutilized over $6.6 billion worth of excess property. She also assisted the Army in divesting 1.2 million pieces of excess equipment.
Low initiated the first DLA/Army Industry Day to address demilitarization processes, which eventually resulted in a new procedure that reduced transportation costs by over $800,000. She also led a structural overhaul of the LESO program, which transfers excess military equipment to law enforcement agencies, during a 2015 presidential review.
“As a strong customer advocate, she stepped in without hesitation to ensure DLA’s core mission of taking care of the warfighter was always top priority,” wrote Michael Cannon, director of DLA Disposition Services, in his nomination.
Cannon noted that Low was highly respected within the disposal community for her innovative ideas, wisdom and expertise.
