DSCC earns top DOW installation award

DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) Public Affairs

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced Defense Supply Center Columbus, Ohio, commanded by Navy Rear Adm. Julie Treanor, is among the recipients of the 2026 Commander in Chief's Annual Award for Installation Excellence.

The six winning installations were announced in a War.gov news release June 4.

The annual award recognizes the outstanding and innovative efforts of the people who operate and maintain U.S. military installations. The recipients of this highly competitive presidential award were selected for their exemplary support of Department of War missions during fiscal year 2025.

Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support (Columbus) maintains operational control of the 500-acre installation in conjunction with DLA Installation Management – Columbus and includes state, federal and DoW organizations such as the Ohio Army National Guard Regional Training Institute; the 4th Marine Corps District, Marine Corps Recruiting Command; the Defense Finance and Accounting Service and the Veterans Administration, which are all co-located on or near the site.

Installations compete on how well they achieve the Department’s objectives in several areas of installation management, including mission support, quality of life and unit morale, real property management, safety, health and security, communications, and public relations. DSCC excelled in all areas in fiscal 2025, while executing its complex global logistics mission in support of U.S. military forces.

As a winning installation, DSCC will receive a commemorative trophy, flag and congratulatory letter from the President.
