2026 DLA Foundation scholarship winners announced

The Defense Logistics Agency Foundation awarded 32 scholarships to students with close family ties to current or past employees for the 2026-2027 school year.

The awardees each received a $2,000 scholarship. Scholarships are awarded annually based on merit and financial need.

The Frank Lotts Scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering or math in honor of the former DLA senior executive service member who passed away in 2007. The 2026 recipient is Gabriella Olson, a family member of a DLA Troop Support employee.

Another scholarship this year is named in memory of Terry Phillips, an employee of DLA Distribution at Oklahoma City who passed away in 2023. The scholarship is awarded to the top applicant with a family member who was, or is, assigned to either DLA Distribution at Oklahoma City or DLA Weapons Support at Oklahoma City. The 2026 recipient is Leanna Kohl, a family member of a DLA Distribution employee.

Children, stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces or nephews of current or former DLA military or civilian employees are eligible for scholarships. The DLA Foundation accomplishes fundraising for scholarships by hosting various events throughout the year, and through personal contributions and Combined Federal Campaign donations.

The DLA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization not affiliated with the War Department.
