NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania –
United States Navy Supply Corps Lt. Cmdr. Alexander Kaczur, outgoing DLA Distribution Current Operations executive officer, has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Award for his support to the DLA Distribution enterprise since his arrival in July 2012.
DLA Distribution commander Army Brig. Gen. Richard Dix presented Kaczur with the award during a ceremony in his honor May 15, saying “I predict we will see you again one day, possibly as a DLA Distribution site commander.”
During his three-year tenure with DLA Distribution, Kaczur first served as executive officer at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa. During this time, Kaczur led a team of over 1,600 civilian and military professionals, processing over 7 million Materiel Release Orders and managing millions of dollars in Materiel Handling Equipment.
As Current Operations executive officer, Kaczur supported operations at 24 distribution centers. He was also instrumental in increasing dedicated truck support to the Army’s National Training Center at Ft. Irwin, Calif., and in reducing the dollar value of outstanding Navy Stock-in-Transit materiel by over $23 million in only seven months.
Kaczur’s next assignment is with the Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group at Naval Weapons Station Yorktown, Cheatham Annex, Va.
