Red River’s Harding named Employee of the Quarter

By Brianne Bender DLA Distribution Public Affairs

Marsha Harding, information assistant at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Red River, Texas, has been named DLA Distribution Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of fiscal year 2015.

In addition to performing her normal duties of providing operational and administrative support, Harding has taken on several additional duties to include coordinating more than 15 presentations and trainings and assisting personnel in resolving travel-related problems, working on short notice and under extreme time pressures to ensure DLA Distribution Red River Texas’ travelers are taken care of quickly and effectively.  She also coordinates and runs the new hire employee orientation program, and is the command’s point of contact for all travel questions and command events.

“Ms. Harding primarily works behind the scenes to ensure that all major command and morale-building events are coordinated and flow seamlessly into the mission schedule with minimal impact,” said Terry Carter, deputy chief, Distribution Support Division at DLA Distribution Red River. “Her direct influence and coordination of these events were instrumental in the command having an unprecedented increase in all areas of the most recent culture/climate survey. “

The increase in satisfaction and happiness with the personal aspects of the employees’ work had a direct effect on DLA Distribution Red River’s production metrics improvement and ultimately enhanced DLA’s global distribution initiatives, said Carter. Harding’s efforts also contributed to DLA Distribution Red River, Texas, receiving the Phyllis C. Campbell Award for Excellence.

Carter adds that Harding’s accomplishments have earned her the admiration of all who have come in contact with her. “She is most deserving of this award.”
