Sigonella’s commander selected for promotion to Captain

United States Navy Supply Corps Cmdr. Pamela C. Dozier, commander of DLA Distribution Sigonella, has been selected for the rank of captain.

A native of Jonesboro, Ark., Dozier received a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy in 1995. She received a master’s degree in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University in 2003 and a master’s degree in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2006. She is also a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, now the Eisenhower School.

Before coming to Distribution, Dozier served as the deputy chief for Operations and then deputy chief for Joint Exercises at United States Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. There she coordinated rapid crisis action to provide joint enabling capabilities in support of Operation United Assistance, supporting the rapid deployment and employment of two Joint Task Force-Port Opening teams to Africa.

Her initial sea tour was aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt as the customer service officer, quality assurance officer, and wardroom officer from. Dozier then served as supply officer aboard USS Ticonderoga from 2003 to its decommissioning in 2004. Aboard Ticonderoga, she provided logistics support for a six-month counter-drug operation deployment to the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific. She is authorized to wear the Coast Guard Special Operations ribbon.

Additionally, Dozier’s shore duty assignments include legislative assistant at Naval Reactors, logistics planner at U.S. Naval Forces Central Command and operations analyst at Naval Supply Systems Command where she was hand-selected by the chief of the Supply Corps to serve on the Supply Corps Strategic Vision Study team, charting the course for Supply Corps officer career development in the future.

Dozier’s awards include one Defense Meritorious Service Medal, one Meritorious Service Medal, four Navy Commendation Medals, and two Navy Achievement Medals. She is also Joint Service Officer as well as Surface and Naval Aviation Supply Officer qualified.
