Fueling the force

By DLA Energy Public Affairs

Testing and witnessing the pipeline movements of jet fuel keeps Defense Logistics Agency Energy Americas West Quality Assurance Supervisor Michael J. Lambrecht on the road traveling to nine western states. He is featured in a new DLA Energy YouTube video.

A 33-year veteran of DLA Energy, Lambrecht is the North West supervisor who oversees six QARS and military fuel operations throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Northern California, North West Nevada, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado.

Lambrecht was filmed by DLA Video Executive Producer Nutan Chada at the Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington.

DLA Energy coordinates the delivery and quality of more than 12 million gallons of jet fuel, gasoline and cryogenics shipped to the base to support the 92nd Air Refueling Wing assigned to the Air Mobility Command’s Eighteenth Air Force. The base is home to air refueling mission with two wings, one active the 92nd Air Refueling Wing, and one national guard, the 141st Air Refueling Wing, both flying the Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker.

“It is a 360-mile drive one way from Vancouver, Washington to Fairchild Air Force Base,” Lambrecht said. “We also travel to inspect fuel operations at Joint Base Lewis McCord, Travis Air Force Base, Hill Air Force Base, Buckley Air Force Base, Portland Air National Guard Base and Kingsley Field Air National Guard, home base of the Oregon Air National Guard’s 173rd Fighter Wing.”
