DLA Land and Maritime Recruiter, Carlton Edwards, speaks with a potential applicant. Over 300 graduates attended the expo and most were looking for engineering positions.
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 8, 2018 —
On February 2, two recruiters from DLA Land and Maritime participated in the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges CareerFest at the Ohio Expo Center. This event provided DLA an opportunity to speak with students from the Greater Columbus area. The focus of this career fair was to inform students about our summer internship and PACE Program within DLA and other Government entities.
The goal was to attract and acquire a dynamic workforce. A customized booth was built to brand DLA Land and Maritime. Our booth attracted many students from a variety of majors and minors that were applicable to careers offered by DLA. A vast number of the students we spoke with were majoring in mechanical and electrical engineering. Most of the students that stopped by our booth didn’t realize DLA was located so close to their school and that we offered internships. The students were very surprised by the flexibility of our internships and were eager to apply.
