Yokosuka Service Member honored for Volunteer Service

On Nov. 14, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan, Fire and Emergency Services, installation fire chief Richard G. Henderson presented DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan’s Petty Officer 1st Class Brandon M. Ussin with a letter of appreciation and challenge coin for his outstanding support during the base fire department’s open house on Oct. 6.

The event was a huge success received and numerous accolades from the community and senior leaders. Ussin provided key leadership and manpower to serve the community by donating his personal time and leading fire prevention activities to help spread the 2018 fire safety message “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere.”

Fleet Activities Yokosuka is a large and diverse community comprised of military members, United States civilians, their families, local national workers and off-base visitors.
