She attributed her award to her peers, coworkers and employees for teaching her what she knows about Defense Logistics Agency Energy.

Air Force Capt. Angele Montfort was selected as the DLA 2018 Air Force Outstanding Logistics Readiness Officer of the Year in December 2018.

“She is an outstanding Logistics Readiness officer,” said DLA Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Albert Miller in an announcement to the workforce. “This is a tremendous accomplishment, especially when you consider the phenomenal pool of competition. We are extremely proud of you … keep up the great work.”

An LRO of seven years, Montfort has been assigned to DLA Energy for the past year and a half in the Logistics Career Broadening Program. She said the intent of the career broadening program is for company grade officers to rotate to multiple sections in DLA Energy to understand processes at the strategic level. Currently, she is in the DLA Energy Operations Center but plans on working with the DLA Energy International Agreements team next.

“It is an honor to receive this distinguished award,” Montfort said.

Montfort will now compete for the Air Force District of Washington LRO of the Year Award.
