NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa., Feb. 6, 2019 —
Bikki Queen, office automation secretary for the Preservation, Packaging, Packing, and Marking Division at DLA Distribution Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was recognized as one of DLA’s 10 Outstanding Personnel of the Year at DLA’s 51st annual employee recognition ceremony Dec. 13, for her management of the day-to-day activities of more than 170 personnel.
DLA director Army Lt. Gen. Darrell Williams, along with Distribution’s commanding officer Navy Supply Corps Rear Adm. Kevin Jones, were on hand to present the award at the McNamara Headquarters Complex Auditorium, Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
According to distribution center director Ned LaViolette, “Ms. Queen exceeds expectations. Her efforts ensure the PPP&M Division completes all assignments in a timely and efficient manner.”
Despite an increase of 33 percent in manning from fiscal year 2017 to FY18, Queen maintained superb management in the collection and input of all time and attendance date for all PPP&M employees.
A recognized expert who is continuously called upon to supplement and stand in for command administration and assist in local Personnel/Human Resources matters, Queen logged, reviewed, and filed over 500 letters of memorandum and 1,500 administrative reports. She professionally handled over 5,800 e-mails and telephone calls, scheduled over 300 meetings, and meticulously reformatted, filed, and maintained more than 4,000 personnel forms and folders.
As part of her human resources duties, she expeditiously and accurately completed more than 130 Request for Personnel Actions in support of hiring actions needed to reach manning authorizations.
As a proponent for the Voluntary Protection Program and safety in the workplace, she exceeded 365 accident-free days and her contributions led to the completion of Stage II of the VPP STAR program, which recognizes employers who demonstrate exemplary achievement in the prevention and control of occupational safety and health hazards.
“Ms. Queen’s demonstrated professionalism, enthusiasm and attention to detail have made her an integral part of the DLA Distribution Oklahoma City team,” said LaViolette.
