DLA Director awards Troop Support Indo-Pacific team for humanitarian efforts

The Defense Logistics Agency Director recognized a DLA Troop Support Indo-Pacific humanitarian assistance and disaster relief team during a town hall at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Jan. 29.

Army Lt. Gen. Darrell Williams presented Melba Medley, a DLA Troop Support Indo-Pacific contracting officer, and Arden Ikehara, a DLA Troop Support Indo-Pacific logistical management specialist, with the “Ya Done Good” award for their team’s relief assistance to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands following Super Typhoon Yutu.

The team provided emergency procurement support for urgent roofing materials, lumber and building materials in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Temporary Roofing Installation Support program. The team processed 21 actions with a total obligation of more than $9.5 million in supplies they needed to recover.
