Employee Working Group holds monthly meeting

By DLA Aviation Public Affairs Office

Employees gathered in person and on the phone Sept. 3 for the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Employee Working Group monthly meeting. Summer Conley Payton, EWG chairperson, and Harris “Jay” Greene, EWG vice-chairperson, shared info with more than 45 employees during the quick 15-minute meeting.

Conley Payton shared the upcoming agenda for the Quarterly Forum which will be held Sept. 17 in the Frank Lotts Conference Center, while Greene shared that the monetary award for the Employee of the Month has increased to $750 and plans are in progress to potentially raise the amount to $1000.

During September's forum, employees will learn about DLA Installation Management Richmond’s Security & Emergency Services as well as receive activity updates from DLA Aviation Deputy Commander Charlie Lilli and current IT issues from Martin Steiner, J6 Business Relationship Management for DLA Aviation.

“During the forum, we will recognize our recent Employee of the Month recipients’ award-winning accomplishments.” said Conley Payton.

“At October’s EWG meeting we will be accepting self-nominations for the EWG officer positions for the next calendar year,” she said.  Officer positions will be reduced to the chairperson, vice-chairperson and secretary roles based on feedback from the working group and will be voted on during the October meeting.

Employees may learn more about the EWG and its officer positions by accessing the EWG homepage on eWorkplace.
