Employee Spotlight: Devon LeCointe

Organization: DLA at Cherry Point, NC 

Years of Service: 19 years

What is your job title, and what do you do, specifically? I am a customer support specialist. In this capacity, I process customer orders, manage backorders, provide customers with order status updates, perform expedited and follow-up actions, as well as research alternative sources.
Have you had a mentor that helped you grow in your career? If so who, and how did they help? I have had many mentors throughout my time with Defense Logistics Agency, from Gerald Satterwhite, Eric Neumann, Delbert Walton, Nicole Smith and Clyde Shaeffer to name a few. Their teachings have been monumental in my career growth.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?  In the next five years, I see myself still working for DLA providing support to the warfighter.

If you could speak directly to the warfighters you support, what would you tell them? If I could speak directly to the warfighters, I would thank them for everything that they do for us and for this country. ¬¬¬¬

What was your first job? My first job was as a bagger at a grocery store in the Virgin Islands.

What’s the most thrilling/adventurous thing you have ever done? The most thrilling thing I have ever done was jumping off a waterfall while stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
 
What type of music do you most enjoy? My favorite type of music would be Reggae. Listening to Reggae always puts me in a more relaxed state of mind.
 
What is your proudest accomplishment? My proudest accomplishment would be graduating from Craven Community College in New Bern, North Carolina, with an Associate Degree in Psychology.

What is/are your favorite book(s), television show(s) or movie(s)? My all-time favorite movies would be the entire Stars Wars series.
