“The Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex wouldn't have been successful
without your teamwork and your willingness to fight by our sides.”
Those are sentiments expressed by United States Air
Force Brig. Gen. Walter Lindsley, WR-ALC commander, to all Defense Logistics
Agency tenants co-located with the WR-ALC at Robins Air Force Base. The WR-ALC was named
Category 4 Depot winner of the Air Force Materiel Command’s 2015 Maintenance
Effectiveness Award.
Lindsley attributes the accolades partially to the supply chain's
role. DLA Distribution Warner Robins,
specifically, provided direct support to the 402nd Aircraft Maintenance Group
and its C5, C17, C130 and F15 missions to maintenance the aircraft then return
them to Air Force inventory in the required time.
According to Lindsley, it is thanks to the distribution center's
efforts that the Air Maintenance Group squadron commanders and their forward
logistics specialists received emergency and routine aircraft parts to the
Programmed Depot maintenance lines as well as the Aircraft Functional Test areas
for each aircraft.
DLA Distribution Warner Robins located and processed $25 million in
aircraft frame parts for the C-5 Aircraft Group alone.
As acknowledged by Air Force Col. Rod Bloker, commander, DLA
Aviation at Warner Robins, "Airpower starts with DLA."
