DLA Logistics Operations Training (J31CT) offers training on most DLA Logistics Operations products and services. Most of our courses offer classroom instruction as well as Web Based Training (WBT), e.g., Webinars via MS Teams, Zoom.Gov, ect.
Logistics Data Training Courses are designed to improve warfighter performance and provide comprehensive training and familiarization with our Self-Help Tools. We provide training opportunities to the Warfighter, DOD, Federal and State agencies, NATO and Partner Nations and USG sponsored suppliers and contractors. Courses can be tailored to meet individual organizational requirements. DLA is committed to delivering quality training at our Battle Creek site, a customer’s location or via a WBT learning forum. DRAWING INTERPRETATION - 8 Hour Course
This extensive course will provide instruction on how to identify the various sections of Engineering Drawings and Blueprints in order to extract characteristics, technical, and identification data. The course also demonstrates the methods by which Dimensions and Tolerances are applied and interpreted.
ELECTRONIC CATALOGING (E-CAT) - 3 Hour Course
E-Cat is primarily for catalogers and select personnel who perform cataloging actions. Participants learn how to conduct an inquiry of submitted transactions or check the status of National Stock Numbers (NSN) managed by DLA. Students receive instruction on single and mass load request forms. The cataloging request options are as follows: New NSN assignment, Reinstate a canceled NSN, update an existing NSN, Cancel an NSN, and Collaboration actions. Forms DD1685; JLC 17, 19 and 47; DD180; and the NATO form AC/135 are addressed in the Collaboration corridor.
DLA ORDERS via FEDMALL - 4 Hour Course
How do I research my DLA managed requisitions? DLA Orders is the go to tool where users will become familiar with the system functionalities. The course exposes users to methods on how to run queries using NSN/NIINs or Requisition Numbers. Students will receive hands-on practice while learning how to run queries, check the supply status of orders, view stock levels, review Stock-Out Reports, view item notes and conduct shipment tracking to find answers to "Where Is My Stuff". A FedMall account is required prior to attending the class in order to participate in the hands-on learning.
FEDMALL SHOPPING - 4 Hour Course
FedMall Shopping is intended for authorized users responsible for ordering DOD Assets. Students become familiar with functionalities using an e-Commerce application. Attendees receive hands-on practice while learning how to search for items of supply, managing shopping carts and submitting orders. Government Purchase Card holders will learn how to procure items using either the purchase card or MILSTRIP requisitioning. A FedMall account is required prior to attending the class in order to participate in the hands-on learning.
FEDERAL LOGISTICS (FED LOG®) - 8 Hour Course
FED LOG® is a product that contains a three-prong research tool which includes The Interactive Application, Characteristics Search, and Batch Processing. Logistics data included in the FED LOG® product is discussed in detail during the course. Data topics include Item Information, Vendor, Supplier, Freight and Characteristics, and other data recorded under NSNs. Students will receive in-depth information and demonstration, as well as hands-on practice with each of the three applications listed. FED LOG® can be downloaded from FedMall. Users should download FED LOG® prior to attending the class in order to participate in the hands-on learning.
FEDERAL LOGISTICS INFORMATION SYSTEM (FLIS)PORTFOLIO WORKBENCH (FPW) - 3 Hour Course
This course is designed for the cataloging audience. This training provides catalogers with instruction on navigating throughout FPW. The Inbox and Workload Manager area along with all the interface buttons associated with them re viewed and discussed. Students learn the importance of filtering information to view the desired data. Workload unique data to specific cataloging role(s) is also discussed.
LOGISTICS OPERATIONS APPLICATIONS COURSE (LOAC) - 16 Hour Course
LOAC is intended to provide the student with a broad overview and demonstrations of DLA Logistics Operations applications. Students will become familiar with FED LOG®, WebFLIS®, FedMall, WebVLIPS and IGC applications and learn how to apply them in conducting Logistics planning or research.
MILITARY ENGINEERING DATA ASSET LOCATOR SYSTEM (MEDALS) - 3 Hour Course
Provides a basic introduction to the MEDALS system. The student will learn the different methods of accessing MEDALS, how to sign on/off the system, who to contact when system problems arise, and what the various error messages mean. Within the MEDALS program, areas discussed will be Part Number, National Item Identification Number, Commercial and Government Entity Code, Document Number and Document Title information. Information on drawings will include repository information, type formats, Electronic Data Order Request (EDOR), order page and order history.
Web Federal Logistics Information System (WebFLIS®) - 8 Hour Course
WebFLIS® provides essential information about supply items including the NSN/NIIN, the item name, manufacturer and supplier part number and CAGE code, through a web interface connected to FLIS data. Users will learn how to navigate between several query tabs which include Basic and Advanced Characteristic, Medical queries; Weapons Systems; and Bill of Materials/Sets, Kits and Outfits (DLA managed items). Students learn how to use select Output Views to further narrow searches. A WebFLIS® account is required prior to attending the class in order to participate in the hands-on learning.
WEBVLIPS / DAASINQ - 8 Hour Course
This course is intended for authorized users responsible for conducting logistics research on open or closed requisitions for all Sources of Supply. Students will be exposed to an overview, demonstrations and hands-on practice in the application. Students will run queries using Requisition Numbers, DODAACs, Transportation Control Numbers, and NSNs along with creating Ad Hoc Query reports. The DAASINQ application will also be demonstrated in this course to review DODAAC (DOD Activity Address Code) information. A WebVLIPS account is required prior to attending the class in order to participate in the hands-on learning.
L- SERIES COURSES INTRODUCTION TO LOGISTICS INFORMATION (ILI)
This self-paced course provides a general overview of the NSN Logistics Concepts and is available via the World Wide Web or Computer Based Training. The ILI is designed to provide an entry-level understanding of the format and data elements contained within an NSN as published in the Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS). Any individual who works within the supply logistics arena and uses NSNs to input, revise, or cancel items-of-supply will benefit from this course. The ILI is a pre-requisite course for the LDI and LIFC Courses.
LOGISTICS DATA INTERPRETATION (LDI) - 24 Hour Course
Provides an in-depth review of all information contained within a NSN and related data elements contained within a Total Item Record (TIR). The FLIS TIR will be analyzed and interpreted using standard DLA products and services. Pre-requisite for the LDI is the ILI Course.
LOGISTICS DATA RESEARCH TECHNIQUES (LDRT) - 16 Hour Course
A review of the NSN Total Item Record data elements and hands on use of the research tools available to find required data elements to include FED LOG®, WebFLIS® and more.
LOGISTICS INFORMATION FUNDAMENTALS (LIFC) - 24 Hour Course
LIFC is designed for entry-level Cataloging Logisticians who will be directly involved with making supply cataloging decisions and supply cataloging transactions within the FLIS. The course provides an in-depth review of all information necessary to understand basic cataloging principles and how to interpret FLIS data elements published through Logistics-On-Line- Application (LOLA) Classic, WebFLIS®, and FED LOG® extracts. Pre-requisite for the LIFC is the ILI Course.
