DLA Kitting Program - DLA engages both customers and suppliers when formulating kitting recommendations. DLA Kitting will simplify and quicken your requisitioning process by providing all the necessary parts in one kit, by allowing you to submit one requisition instead of multiple. Lead times and cost for the maintenance, overhaul or operation tasks will be reduced. Additionally, customers may specify services in conjunction with parts. DLA's kitting solutions consider all logistics options to best support customers’ needs and ensure the quality, integrity and affordability of products and services. DLA's supply chains – Aviation, Land, Maritime, Construction & Equipment, Clothing & Textiles, Medical, and Subsistence have provided thousands of Kits.
Land – Land Kitting contains kits that support all land-based weapon systems, including small arms, generators, and tracked and wheeled vehicles.
Maritime – Maritime Kitting contains kits that support all maritime-based weapon systems, including torpedo launchers, patrol boats, ships, pumps and valves.
Medical – Medical to stock kits are service managed Small First Aid Kits, which include both medical and non-medical items.
Subsistence – Military food items for individual and group field feeding.
Clothing & Textiles – Kits managed by Clothing & Textiles include portable tents and shelters, ecclesiastical/religious kits, and martial arts training kits.
Aviation – Aviation kits are tailored to specific customer tasks and requirements and are designed to increase aircraft readiness for operational field units and all levels of aircraft maintenance. The kits are comprised of various DLA and non-DLA managed components and range in size and complexity.
Customers can submit kit requests through their customer support representatives. Customers may also choose to submit their kitting requirements to customer operations personnel at the appropriate DLA supply chain if no customer support representatives have been established. DLA will assist the customer by working with ESAs and program offices to obtain approval for kits. The managing DLA supply chain will ensure coordination and approval is obtained.
What kits are available via the Kitting Program: Make to Stock (MTS) kits are standard kits that are assembled and stocked in depots for future use based on past usage and projected demand. These are available through military standard requisitioning and issue procedures.
MTS kits are approved by the Military Services Weapon System Engineering Support Activity (ESA), Program Offices, and are assigned National Stock Numbers (NSNs).
Made to Order (MTO) Kits are not part of the Kitting Program.
Kit Ordering which are already in the DLA Supply Chains: Kits can be ordered via the Military Services Supply Systems and/or FedMall. You may also contact your organization’s DLA Customer Support Representative (CSR).
