SQL Basic

Course Description

A three-day course that involves learning the basic language to query the FLIS DB2 database. Day 1 is spent learning (via many hand-on exercises) the relationship between the FLIS TIR (NSN), Volume 12, and the DB2 tables. Day 2 involves learning how to build basic SELECT statements and gradually adding several various clauses and query functions in their proper order to affect desired results. It also covers learning how to manipulate query result with continuous exercises. Day 3 is spent focusing on the versatility of the WHERE clause, Comparison Operators, and the CONCAT, BETWEEN, LIKE, IN, NOT IN, and DISTINCT functions. Constant query construction will be expected based on a variety of situational query requests. In preparation for the class, attendees should have access to the DB2 TEST region and DoD 4100.39-M Volume 12.
