Electronic Turn in Document (ETID) Overview

DLA Disposition Services has developed a web-based Electronic Turn-in Document (ETID). It is an electronic method for preparing a disposal turn-in document (DD Form 1348-1A). The intent of the web-based document is to simplify and improve the turn-in process. It was designed for generators who manually prepare their turn-in documents.

Customers can create web documents that simplify the disposal process by using the Electronic Turn-in Documents (ETIDs) application, which eliminates the handwritten preparation of the DD Form 1348-1A, making it faster and easier to turn property in to DLA Disposition Services. ETID also pre-populates a large portion of the required information automatically when there is a National Stock Number (NSN) item. Additionally, ETID helps to properly facilitate a valid turn-in and drastically reduces the likelihood of a rejection.

New to ETIDs? Here's how to get started:

*Note: If you receive an error “Certificate validation failed. Choose another certificate and try again,” then contact the DISA Service Desk to sync the EDIPI number. The EDIPI is the number on the back of the CAC/PIV and is a field within AMPS. The DISA Service Desk is a required step to get the EDIPI number to sync.

The Hazardous Waste Module has migrated from ETID and moved into the Hazardous Materials Management System – Hazardous Waste Disposition (HMMS-HWD) also known as “HWD”. ETID no longer processes hazardous waste turn-ins.
