Yellow Headquarters Operating Status

The McNamara Headquarters Complex is OPEN with the option for unscheduled leave or telework

For DLA employees who report to work in the National Capital Region at facilities outside the Capital Beltway (i.e., the McNamara HQC and Lorton), the following guidance applies for Thursday, January 29, 2026:

  • Telework-ready employees (either scheduled or unscheduled) may choose to report to the official worksite, perform unscheduled telework, take unscheduled leave, or a combination of both.
  • Telework-ready employees are expected to begin telework on time or request unscheduled leave, or a combination of both.
  • Non-emergency employees must report to work as usual or notify their supervisors of their intent to either take unscheduled leave or perform unscheduled telework or some combination.
  • Emergency employees are expected to report to their worksites on time unless otherwise directed.

DLA employees who report to work in the National Capital Region at facilities inside the Capital Beltway (i.e.,  the Pentagon and the Suffolk Building) must follow daily operating status guidance issued by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.

Employees of tenant organizations must adhere to their own agency's policies.

During times of inclement weather or emergencies, the Defense Logistics Agency headquarters offices refer to the Office of Personnel Management's operating status guidance. Following an OPM status change, DLA's headquarters operating status will update here and on the headquarters homepage with DLA-specific details.

To receive notices to check the DLA website for full details, employees may sign up for for emergency notifications using the AtHoc system.
