Mr. Jerry Unruh

Deputy Inspector General Investigations Division

Jerold (Jerry) J. Unruh became the Deputy Inspector General, Investigations Division, Office of the Inspector General, Defense Logistics Agency, in December 2012. Prior to his current assignment, he spent ten years providing personnel security services to the US Government as an adjudications and case manager, quality control manager, operations manager, program manager, deputy director, director, and small business owner, contracting and subcontracting personnel security services to the US Government. His career with the US Army spans nearly 35 years, where he served as a Military Policeman, Drill Sergeant, Military Police Investigator, and CID Special Agent, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer Five. His US Army Criminal Investigation Command experience included duties as a Special Agent, Special Agent in Charge, Brigade Assistant S3, Battalion S3, and Senior Special Agent at the 3d MP Group CID, Ft Gillem, GA. Unruh served as a Training, Advising, and Counseling (TAC) Officer and as the Battalion Senior TAC Officer at the Warrant Officer Candidate Entry Course (later the Warrant Officer Candidate School) at Fort Rucker, AL and as the Chief Warrant Officer of the MP Corps Regiment and Chief, MP Operations and Investigations Division, US Army MP School, then at Ft McClellan, AL. Unruh commanded the Field Investigative Unit and helped to organize and establish the DoD Joint Criminal Investigation Task Force following the terrorist attacks of 09/11/01. His career with USACIDC culminated as the Chief of Current Operations and Policy at the USACIDC Headquarters, then located at Ft Belvoir, VA. He earned an AA from Hutchinson Community College in Kansas, a BS from the University of Maryland, College Park MD, and a Master of Science Degree from Troy State University at Dothan, AL.
