CAPT Onofrio P. Margioni

Executive Officer/Chief of Staff, Joint Reserve Force

CAPT Margioni is a native of Rye, New York. He is a 1999 graduate of New York University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies. CAPT Margioni holds a Master’s of Art degree, earned in 2010 in Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, Newport, RI, and is a graduate of the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, Executive Education Program.

After completing the Navy Supply Corps School Basic Qualification Course in Athens, GA, CAPT Margioni reported to SUPPLY SUPPORT BATTALION TWO as Administrative and Training officer. In 2002, CAPT Margioni reported to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Twenty-One, Lakehurst, NJ, as the assistant Supply Officer. In 2003, CAPT Margioni was mobilized in support of OPERATION NOBLE EAGLE and ENDURING FREEDOM in support of JTF GTMO operations, as assistant officer in-charge, 22NCR (Forward) Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. CAPT Margioni deployed in 2004 in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM attached to IMEF forces, Al-Anbar province, as officer in-charge of four Logistics cells in the IMEF AO.

In 2005, CAPT Margioni reported to Commander, Naval Forces Southern Command, Mayport, FL, as the N4. In 2007, CAPT Margioni reported on-board USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70) as the S-8 Divisional Officer and assumed duties as Principal Assistant for Logistics. In February of 2009, CAPT Margioni reported to the US Naval War College, Naval Staff and Command School, Newport, RI. In 2010, CAPT Margioni reported to Headquarters Defense Logistics Agency, assigned to J9 as the J97 Training and Readiness Officer, and deployed in 2012 to Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM as the DLA DST Commander for the Capital, North, and East Regions. In 2013, CAPT Margioni reported to Navy Supply Corps School, Newport RI, as the Director for Reserve Programs. CAPT Margioni reported in June of 2015, as the Operations Officer for NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center, Sigonella, Italy. In May of 2016, CAPT Margioni assumed duties as the Executive Officer, NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center, Sigonella, Italy.

CAPT Margioni reported to Coastal Riverine Group TWO, Little Creek VA, as the N41 in January of 2018. CAPT Margioni reported to his current command, DLA HQ J9 Directorate, in September of 2020.

CAPT Margioni’ s personnel awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (three awards), Operation Iraqi Freedom and Afghanistan Campaign Medals and GWOT expeditionary Medal with USMC globe and anchor for combat operations.
