Mr. Andrew 'Dutch' Duszynski

Deputy Inspector General Operations, Defense Logistics Agency

Mr. Andrew Duszynski became the United States Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Deputy Inspector General (IG) for Operations Division (OD) in April 2019.  As such he has direct responsibility for overseeing the agency’s Enterprise Inspections and Hotline Programs, as well as the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) Administrative and Operations Programs. DLA has approximately 25,000 federal and military employees.  Mr. Duszynski performs the key function of synchronizing critical DLA OIG cross-functional efforts. Prior to his assignment as the DLA Deputy Inspector General, he served in various staff positions in support of the DLA OIG Investigations Division (2014 - 2016) and direct advisor to the DLA IG for administrative and operational matters (2016 - 2019). 

Prior to beginning a federal government service career, Mr. Duszynski served as an executive with Target Corporation, a Fortune 100 company, with a focus on retail store operations. Before that position, he served as a career U.S. Army officer.  His military career spanned over 20 years of service as a Combat Arms (Cavalry) Officer. He retired in 2011.  

Mr. Duszynski’s military career provided a broad base of experience in leading people and developing deep understanding of organizational management. He led Soldiers while serving in U.S. Army command and staff positions at various echelons from the tactical to strategic levels. He has extensive experience serving in Cavalry organizations at the tactical level culminating with his command of DoD’s Joint Task Force Six (JTF-6) conducting counter-drug interdiction at the U.S. border with Mexico. As a trainer, he served at the U.S. Army’s National Training Center (NTC) as an Observer/Controller (OC) teaching brigade and battalion-level tactics under rigorous conditions in the Mojave Desert throughout 18 major military unit rotations.  At the U.S. Army Major Command and U.S. Army Service Component Command level, he served as the Executive Officer for the U.S. Army Europe (USAEUR) Deputy Chief of Staff, G3 (Training and Operations).

At the U.S. Army Headquarters Direct Reporting Unit level, he served as an Armor Branch Assignments Officer helping manage the career progression and promotion of thousands of Company-grade officers across the Total Force. After completing studies at the U.S. Naval War College in 2003 and until his retirement, Mr. Duszynski served as a U.S. Army Foreign Area Officer including assignments to Austria (U.S. Embassy), Germany (USAEUR), and the Military District of Washington (Defense Intelligence Agency).

Mr. Duszynski entered the military in 1987 after graduation from Eisenhower High School, New Berlin, WI. In 1991, he completed his undergraduate studies at the United States Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY, and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Armor branch. He received a Bachelor of Science History degree from USMA, and a Master of Arts National Security and Strategic Studies degree from the U.S. Naval War College, Newport, RI.
