Brig. Gen. Sean P. Kelly, USA

Commander, DLA Troop Support

Army Brigadier General Sean P. Kelly assumed command of Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support on June 18, 2025. Under his leadership, DLA Troop Support annually provides nearly $22 billion worth of food, clothing and textiles, construction and equipment, pharmaceuticals, along with medical supplies and equipment for America’s warfighters and other values customers worldwide. To accomplish this mission, BG Kelly oversees a global workforce of more than 2,300 civilian and military personnel.

BG Kelly was commissioned in 2000 upon graduation from Norwich University. His first assignment was with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky as the 2nd Battalion Logistics Operations Officer. He then moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he served the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division first as Brigade S-4, then Brigade Support Operations Officer, and ultimately as the Battalion Executive Officer of the 782nd Brigade Support Battalion. He then went on to serve as the Military Assistant to the Headquarters, Department of the Army Deputy Chief of Staff (HQDA DCS) G-4 in Arlington, Virginia. His first role with the Defense Logistics Agency was as the J-33 Chief of Operations in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. BG Kelly also served as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of U.S. Army Materiel Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, before returning to the HQDA to serve as Executive Officer to the HQDA DCS G-8 and G-4, respectively.

BG Kelly’s command assignments include serving as Troop Commander to the Delta Forward Support Company (RSTA FSC), 4-73 Cavalry Regiment, and Commander of the Bravo Company (Maintenance), 782nd Brigade Support Battalion, at the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He also served as Commander of the 325th Brigade Support Battalion (BSB), 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and Commander of the 1st Armored Division, Division Sustainment Brigade (DSB) at Fort Bliss, Texas.

In his previous assignment, BG Kelly served as Commanding General of the 13th Armored Corps Sustainment Command in Fort Cavazos, Texas.

In addition, his operational experience includes five deployments to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; and one deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. BG Kelly’s military education and schools include earning a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, and a Master of Science degree in Strategic Studies from the Marine Corps War College.

His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Norwich University.
