Ms. Emily L. Vogeler

Deputy Commander, DLA Energy

Ms. Emily L. Vogeler currently serves as the Deputy Commander for the Defense Logistics Agency Energy, enabling mission readiness by providing globally resilient energy solutions (from fuel for airplanes, ships, and equipment, to rocket propellants, cryogens, alternative energy, natural gas, and electricity) to the Department of War and other government agencies.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Vogeler held the position as the Executive Director of the DLA Logistics Policy and Programs Directorate (J34) in Logistics Operations (J3) from 2023 to 2026. As the J34 Executive Director, she led a workforce of over 400 civilian and military personnel and was responsible for the development and implementation of enterprise-wide policy of key business and supply chain management functions focused on Order Fulfillment, Retail, Planning, Technical & Quality Assurance, Inventory Management, Transportation, Disposal and Cataloging. In addition, she oversaw Audit Process Health and Business Process Integration within the directorate.

Prior to senior executive service appointment, Ms. Vogeler was the J34 Deputy Director, and before that, was the J3 Logistics Operations Chief Strategy Officer responsible for managing the long-term strategy for DLA business processes.

Ms. Vogeler has been a DLA employee since 2004 and has worked in various DLA positions to include Planning and Alignment Chief, Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS) Portfolio program manager, the Integrated Data Environment and Global Transportation Network Convergence (IGC) business manager, Lead Data Quality Analyst and a DLA Air Force cataloger.

Ms. Vogeler holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in communication from Michigan State University. Additionally, she completed the Federal Executive Institute and Harvard Kennedy School Executive Leadership Programs.

Ms. Vogeler is married to her husband, Chris, and together they have two children.
