Daniele Kurze is the acting Executive Director of Acquisition for DLA Weapons Support.
In this role, Kurze has full managerial responsibility for all supply chain acquisition operations across the major subordinate command. She is engaged in the full range of logistics and acquisition planning, life-cycle management and mission management of worldwide aviation, land and maritime items. Ms. Kurze assumed her role in June 2026.
DLA Weapons Support is the aviation, land and maritime demand and supply chain manager for DLA with more than 6,300 civilian and military personnel at 54 locations worldwide. Established Oct. 1, 2025, the major subordinate command (MSC) replaced the former DLA Aviation and DLA Land and Maritime MSCs with a single unified organization, leveraging expertise in both Richmond, Virginia, and Columbus, Ohio. DLA Weapons Support manages more than 4,300 major weapon systems and is the U.S. military integrated material manager for more than 2.4 million national stock number items, industrial retail supply and deport-level reparable acquisitions, with annual sales exceeding $9.385 billion in FY25.
Prior to assuming her current role, Ms. Kurze served as the Executive Director, Small Business Programs for DLA. She was responsible for managing, developing and implementing goals, objectives, policies and procedures to run a DLA-wide program that facilitates the participation of various Small Businesses exceeding $22B in small business obligations in FY25. Her efforts focused on broadening business opportunities for new entrants, fostering small business innovation, and strengthening the defense industrial base to deliver critical capabilities to the Warfighter.
Ms. Kurze has served in multiple other leadership roles since joining DLA in 2010. At the former DLA Aviation, she served as the director of Supplier Operations and the deputy director of the Strategic Acquisition and Programs Directorate. In these positions, she oversaw strategic supplier alliances and the development and execution of customer support strategies through corporate and performance-based contracts, prime vendor arrangements and strategic material.
Before joining DLA, she oversaw, developed and executed public-private partnership contracts and innovative design build contracts for the Virginia Department of Transportation, and served as a member of the Strategic Highway Research Program for national design-build procurement research.
Kurze holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Master of Business Administration from Bellevue University.
