Colonel Daniel P. McGuire is the Headquarters Defense Logistics
Agency Support Branch Chief to Headquarters U.S. Transportation
Command. In this role, he enhances synchronization and integration
across both enterprises through partnering efforts focused upon
increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of distribution and logistics
support. Col McGuire’s branch represents Headquarters Defense
Logistics Agency equities during multiple exercises and conferences,
identifies actionable insights and mitigation strategies through in-transit
visibility, and provides critical transportation support for urgent
supply shipments.
Col McGuire entered the Air Force in June 2004 as a Distinguished
Graduate from Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 640,
Miami University of Ohio. During his career as a Logistics Readiness
Officer, Col McGuire has held various assignments in operational, staff,
career-broadening, squadron command, and developmental positions.
He has also served in joint, expeditionary environments in direct
support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and NEW DAWN.
Prior to his current position, the Col was an Air University Senior
Development Education Fellow serving two years within Air University,
Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama before attending Air War College.
In his first year, he completed a tour as the Deputy Department Chair
for Leader and Research Development, Air Command and Staff
College. In his second year, he served as the Executive Officer to the
Commander and President of Air University. At Air War College, he
was competitively selected for the Grand Strategy Seminar which
provides graduates an Air War College degree with concentration in
Grand Strategy through extensive and exclusive research,
writing, and travel focused upon the Indo-Pacific region and
Great Power Competition.
