Lieutenant Colonel Alan M. Strange

Commander, DLA Troop Support Europe and Africa

LTC Alan Strange- is a native of Tacoma, Washington. He commissioned as an Army Officer from Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) and received his active-duty commission as a Quartermaster Officer in 2009.

LTC Strange is a Joint qualified (3L) Logistics Officer. He has served in command and leadership roles in 1-25th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, the Army Logistics University, 1-11th Airborne Brigade.

Between operational leadership assignments, LTC Alan Strange was selected to serve as an Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, the J4 Chief of Operations for a 14 multinational partners in a Rapid deployable Corp in Istanbul Türkiye, and most recently as the G4 Director for US Army South Joint Base San Antonio.

LTC Strange’s deployment and operational experience includes one deployment Bosnia (1999-2000), two combat deployments to Iraq (2003-2004, 2005-2006) one combat deployment to Afghanistan (2011-2012).

LTC Alan Strange holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, from the University of Washington, and a Master of Military Studies from the Air Command and Staff College.

He is also a graduate from the following schools: Joint and Combined Warfighting School (JPME II), Joint Logistics Course, Support Operations Course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Air Command and Staff College (JPME I).
