Mr. Jim Godfrey is the Chief of Staff for the Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support.
DLA Weapons Support is the aviation, land and maritime demand and supply chain manager for DLA with more than 6,300 civilian and military personnel at 54 locations worldwide.
As Chief of Staff for DLA Weapons Support, Godfrey serves as a principal advisor to the Commander and Deputy Commander on operations and readiness of DLA Weapons Support supply chains delivering repair parts to the military services. DLA Weapons Support's core functions include purchasing materiel, monitoring inventory levels, maintaining technical data, and assuring quality conformance of millions of spare and repair parts used by more than 21,000 military units and federal and civilian agencies.
Godfrey most recently served as the Deputy Director for Land Customer Operations, where he directed the activities of Customer Account Specialists, Customer Logistic Site Specialists, Customer Service Representatives, Demand Planners and Weapon System Support Managers in the execution of order fulfillment, demand planning and overall Warfighter support to Army and Marine Corps operational and industrial customers.
His distinguished 30-year career began as an Army logistics officer and includes several key assignments including Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics for First Army at Rock Island, Illinois; Commandant of the Army Logistics University; Director of the Combined Arms Support Command’s Sustainment Battle Lab at Fort Lee, Virginia; and Chief of Sustainment for the 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, Texas. He has completed multiple previous leadership tours at DLA, giving him a deep and direct understanding of the mission.
Mr. Godfrey holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Central Missouri State University and a Masters in procurement and acquisition from Webster University.
