Two former Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support employees were inducted in the organization’s Hall of Fame in a Nov. 21 ceremony.

Chris Cosfol and Ray Miller, who have a combined 72 years of experience at DLA Troop Support and its legacy organizations, were recognized for their leadership, creativity and vision. 

Army Col. Mark Simerly, DLA Troop Support commander, presided over the ceremony and said that Cosfol and Miller are part of a very select group.

“Each member of the DLA Troop Support Hall of Fame has contributed to what the organization is today, a literal supply chain, logistics powerhouse,” Simerly said. “This Hall of Fame program is for those who came to work every day with the purpose of giving their all, and who have left an unforgettable mark on an organization through their significant contributions.”

Cosfol, who retired as the deputy director of Procurement Process Support in 2014, was recognized for his strategic insight and leadership of the team that developed an electronic procurement system that is still in use today. 

Cosfol said he was honored to be selected for the Hall of Fame, but that he would have never experienced the success without the help of his co-workers. 

“I’ve been blessed throughout my career to work with great groups of people,” he said. “Whether it be deploying systems, working procurement or working with the supply chains, I want to thank everybody for their help accomplishing the mission, no matter what the task.” 

Miller, who retired in 2011 as the deputy director of the Subsistence supply chain, was recognized for his leadership and management in designing and implementing multiple prime vendor contracts, as well as integrating contracts for fresh fruits and vegetables and local market-ready items into the Subsistence support package.  

Though he’s been retired from DLA for more than six years, he’s still proud to be associated with an organization that is doing great things. 

“I want to congratulate DLA for the recent efforts in support of the devastating hurricanes and flooding,” Miller said. “Very few people understand DLA and what you do and the amazing things you accomplish. So having been there and done that, I want to congratulate you on a job well done.”  

Former DLA Troop Support commander Army Maj. Gen. Steven Shapiro was also selected to the Hall of Fame this year. But due to his military schedule, he was unable to attend the ceremony. A separate ceremony for the general is being planned for early 2018. 

The DLA Troop Support Hall of Fame was established in 1994 to recognize employees who made significant contributions to the agency.
