What is your job title, and what do you do, specifically? Marketing manager, I create the promotional materials and advertising for all FMWR Richmond activities i.e. Center Restaurant, Tickets & More, Fitness Center, Outdoor Recreation and Antler Inn Lodging. I also look for commercial businesses who want to partner with FMWR to help create events at DSCR such as Bellwood Shred and the Health and Wellness Expo.

What would you say has been your major contributions to your organization this year in your job? Branding each one of our programs and creating visual consistency for our customers.
What aspect(s) of your current job gives you the most personal satisfaction? Why? Creating marketing materials for each FMWR activity because it provides me with a sense of satisfaction knowing that I helped brand our programs.
What is the most surprising/unexpected thing others do not know about you? I used to perform (reading poetry) at Slam City in Richmond and have written a book of poetry.
What’s your biggest pet peeve? Lack of order and communication
What are some of your passions outside of work? Spending time with my beautiful wife and our two daughters.

Have you had a mentor that helped you grow in your career? Bill Schaffer, who was my mentor while I worked at Fort Lee’s FMWR, helped me understand that building relationships is key and that success comes down to desire and effort. As we must first desire to be successful then put the effort in to make it possible.
