A piece of material handling equipment no longer needed by military forces on Guam is now giving a helping hand to police officers there.
The Guam Police Department was among the customers to visit the DLA Disposition Services site there recently. Property Disposal Specialist Julie Rivera said officers used the 1033 program to acquire a forklift to support their operations.
“They needed this forklift to lift barriers and damaged patrol cars onto their flatbed for transport to their repair yard, among their other needs,” Rivera said.
A screener from the Forestry Division of Guam Department of Agriculture also visited the site under the Fire Fighter Program, but Rivera said nothing was requested from the visit.
