DLA Aviation salutes veterans

By Leon Moore DLA Aviation Public Affairs

From the jungles of Vietnam to the mountainous terrains of Afghanistan to the Global War on Terrorism, past and present military members working on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, have been, at one time or another, at the forefront defending our country.

To celebrate the heroes amongst us and in observance of Veterans Day, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, in conjunction with DLA Installation Operations, hosted a Veterans Day Expo and Resource Fair Nov. 8.  The theme for this year’s event was “Red, White, and Blue and YOU!”

Scores of exhibitors including Disabled American Veterans, Veterans United Home Loan and Fort Lee Credit Union set up tables in the Center Restaurant.

Merlin Ford, program support assistant, Hampton National Cemetery Complex, Hampton, Virginia, gave a presentation in the McKeever Auditorium. The movie “Taking Chance,” the true story of Marine Pfc. Chance Phelps, who was killed in Iraq, was also shown in McKeever.
