DLA Troop Support supervisor recognized for oversight of Navy uniforms transition

By DLA Troop Support Public Affairs

An employee with the Clothing and Textiles supply chain who oversaw the fielding of two Navy uniforms earned the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Supervisor of the Quarter for the first quarter of fiscal 2018.

Anthony J. Ruzicka and his team managed the transition of a new white jumper, also known as the Cracker Jack uniform, for male and female recruits.

Ruzicka’s team also managed the fielding of the woodland camouflage Navy Working Uniform Type III. Both uniforms are being issued to recruits at the Great Lakes Naval Recruit Training Center, Illinois, where 36,000 attend boot camp each year.

The team also fielded more than 150,000 sets of the working uniforms to densely populated Navy regions around the world, including Guam, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Norfolk, Virginia; and San Diego. This enabled sailors to purchase the uniform at Navy Exchange stores at these locations.

More than 240 individual sizes were included in fielding the new uniforms.
