Troop Support employees recognized at quarterly awards ceremony

By John Dwyer III DLA Troop Support Public Affairs

Employees from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support were honored for their achievements during a quarterly awards ceremony March 14 in Philadelphia.

Employees were recognized for various achievements including time in federal service, superior service and humanitarian efforts.

Kelsi MacMurray, an acquisition specialist with the Construction and Equipment supply chain, and Pama Hamlett, a customer support specialist in the Subsistence supply chain, were recognized as DLA Troop Support employees of the month for their contributions to the continued recovery from the 2017 and 2018 hurricane seasons.

Hamlett, a North Carolina resident, was noted in her citation for her customer focus and outreach in spite of potential damage to her own home. She proactively ensured warfighters in the region she supported would have the subsistence items necessary to sustain them through Hurricane Florence.

“It is an honor to have been recognized for this award,” Hamlett said. “I am proud to be part of such a special team dedicated to providing the best support to our customers, even during very difficult and challenging situations.”

MacMurray’s continued partnership and coordination with the Army Corps of Engineers, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and DLA Headquarters in continued support of Puerto Rico’s recovery from Hurricane Maria were cited in her recognition.

“Over the past year I had the opportunity to work with a great team that took on an extraordinary task - one that made me proud to be a part of the Defense Logistics Agency,” MacMurray said. “I am honored to receive this award, and honored to support the warfighter in both routine and challenging times.”
