MilVets sponsors this special recognition of America’s active duty military, National Guard and reserve forces each year and highlights a particular service. This year MilVets featured the United States Navy and Palmer represented his service while also providing broader awareness of the DLA Warfighter support mission.

Palmer spoke on the patriotism that identifies the men and women who volunteer to serve in defense of America and the attributes that compel them to serve. Additionally, he discussed the roles that each of our services play in a unified defense our nation’s interests around the world.

Many of the states elected officials attended the event to demonstrate statewide recognition of the importance the military services play in supporting the nation’s defense. Among the attendees were Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Ohio Supreme Court Justices Sharon Kennedy and Pat DeWine, State Attorney General Dave Yost and several other elected officials. Adjutant General for Army, Ohio National Guard Major General John Harris and Adjutant General for Air, Ohio National Guard Brigadier General James Camp also attended the event.

Palmer concluded his participation in the event by assisting with the presentation of ROTC scholarships which were sponsored by MilVets. The scholarship show appreciation to the commitment of young Americans who step forward as part of the nation’s military to defend American ideals.
