MACDILL AFB, FL –
DLA CENTCOM & SOCOM and DLA Energy Middle East said goodbye to Edwin J. Cruz during a retirement ceremony July 31 at MacDill AFB, Florida. Cruz retired after 34 years of honorable service to our Nation and the Department of Defense.
Cruz served the past 10 years as a DLA Energy liaison officer to Central Command Joint Petroleum Office and previously served 24 years in the U.S. Army.
Colonel Hattie Richardson, DLA CENTCOM & SOCOM Commander, officiated the outdoor ceremony near the CENTCOM building where family, friends and co-workers were able to attend.
Cruz was presented the DLA Distinguished Career Service Award, coins from the DLA Director of Logistics Operations, DLA Energy Commander and DLA CENTCOM & SOCOM Commander and gifts from DLA CENTCOM & SOCOM, DLA Energy Middle East and Central Command J4 (Logistics & Engineering Directorate).
Cruz offered farewell wishes for the audience and a special thank you to his family.
