New Cumberland, PA –
Name: Deborah Wyllie
Organization: J6TE/Strategic Vendor Management
Years of Service: 28
What is your job title, and what do you do, specifically?
IT Business Program Support Analyst - I’m a contracting officer’s representative for hardware, software, and support services contracts. J6TE assists the J6 enterprise service areas with market research, cost estimates, brand name justifications, onboarding and offboarding contractors, contractor common access cards, and much more.
What is your background, including experience and credentials? How does your background help you be successful in your current role?
To date, I have spent 11 years with the Defense Logistics Agency, 13 years with Department of the Army and 4 years in the U.S. Navy. Having been exposed to the military early in my career, and being a military spouse, has enabled me to feel comfortable dealing with a variety of people at all levels.
What aspect(s) of your current job gives you the most personal satisfaction? Why?
Being able to work with others at all the various DLA sites and remotely. Without the J6 realignment several years ago, I would have missed out on meeting some wonderful people across DLA.
What are some of your passions outside of work?
Spending time with family & friends, traveling, and daydreaming of retiring in Florida.
What advice do you have for DLA employees?
If you have a way to improve a process, speak up. Not only are you helping yourself, but you’re helping everyone else who uses that process.
What other self-initiated efforts have you worked on?
Improving contractor onboarding and offboarding instructions for J6 CORs.
