Richmond, Va. –
Three Defense Logistics Agency Aviation military members earned top military awards for the 1st quarter of 2022: Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Brian Skeens was recognized as DLA Aviation’s Non-commissioned Officer of the Quarter; Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Narciso Rivas Prieto as DLA Aviation’s Field Grade Officer of the Quarter; and Air Force Lieutenant Michael A. Ellis as the DLA Aviation’s Company Grade Officer of the Quarter.
When endorsing these service members nomination packages, DLA Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. David Sanford praised their high-level of performance, commitment to mission and desire for personal and professional growth.
In his supporting comments to the nominations, Air Force Col. Daniel Willison, director of Customer Operations for DLA Aviation highlighted Skeens’ leadership ability both professionally in filling two billets, one as a customer account specialist and one as weapon system program manager while volunteering and mentoring the Richmond Kickers youth soccer development program in Richmond Virginia.
Rivas, who was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer 4 Jan. 1, filled two roles during the nomination period; Strategic Readiness Officer and Tactical Readiness Officer in the Army Customer Facing Division. Rivas is also the lead representative to Army Materiel Command and Army Aviation and Missile Command in Huntsville, Alabama, regarding advanced manufacturing and supply chain visualization tools for Defense Logistics Agency Aviation.
Sanford said Ellis is an exemplary company grade officer in every aspect. Each DLA Aviation service member will go on to compete in their categories at the DLA Headquarters level.
