NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Diego, California, hosted U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Dion D. English, director, Logistics, Fleet Supply and Ordnance, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, at the center April 15.
The purpose of English’s visit was to tour the facility and witness firsthand the process excellence in place at DDDC.
The team briefed English on performance metrics, continuous process improvement initiatives and focused lines of effort. Additionally, the team previewed new programs, tools and modules that are currently in the early stages of being implemented.
English acknowledged and complimented DLA Staff on their forward moving efforts and for getting after matters that need to be addressed. He was impressed with the creative thought process in terms of the work they’re doing at the center. “Continuing to think creatively, continuing to think outside of the box, continuing to push the envelope and trying to squeeze a little bit more efficiency out of the process … you all have showed me you are moving us in that forward direction.”
“Our ability to scale accordingly in an ever-changing dynamic environment is extremely relevant,” stated Navy Capt. Kerri Yarbrough, DDDC commander, adding, “Global stock positioning and operating in a contested logistics domain only helps strengthen and align our priorities and initiatives to better support our warfighters.”
