New video promotes ‘Leap into Summer’ fitness program

By DLA Public Affairs

As life heads back toward pre-pandemic normalcy, a new video reminds Defense Logistics Agency civilians and military members to bring fitness into their regular routines this summer.

DLA Senior Enlisted Leader Army Command Sgt. Maj. Tomeka O’Neal encourages everyone with access to DLA fitness centers or public gyms to use them as part of the “Leap into Summer!” fitness program. Professionals at DLA and public facilities can help with mobility and movement training, strength conditioning, Pilates, core exercises and more, she says in the video.

“[Our fitness professionals] are always looking to start training classes that would support personal fitness goals, so give them a try during your summer fitness training,” O’Neal says.

The summer fitness program can tie in with the physical fitness tests and requirements for each branch of the military, including the Army Combat Fitness Test 4.0, the new planks addition to the Navy’s Physical Readiness Test, the exercise portions of the Air Force official and mock fitness tests, and the Marines Semper-Fit program and Combat Fitness Test.

A healthy lifestyle and fitness regimen are vital in taking care of oneself, O’Neal says, reminding everyone to stay safe and have fun while working toward summer fitness goals.
