FORT BELVOIR, Va. –
A Combined Federal Campaign Charity Fair will be held Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Headquarters McNamara Complex cafeteria.
Five charities are slated to be at the fair including Rescue Mission International, which seeks to transform the lives of abandoned, vulnerable children by providing them with tuition, educational materials, meals and healthcare, and King Street Cats, the only all-volunteer, cat-exclusive, no-kill rescue shelter in Alexandria, Virginia.
Attendees can also enter a drawing to win a prize.
The holiday season is the most important time of the year for thousands of CFC charities, according to the CFC’s website, and some organizations fund their entire upcoming years’ worth of services through donations received at this time.
The Defense Logistics Agency’s CFC goal in the national capital region for 2022 is $300,000, and the agency has raised $100,769.60 as of Dec. 1.
Employees have several options to donate before the end of the campaign. Text the word DONATE to (978) 478-5678 and make a one-time donation using a credit card or PayPal. Donations can also be made on the CFC website or though the traditional pledge form.
The CFC Giving App is also available to make a one-time bank transfer or credit card donation, reoccurring payroll pledges and commitments of volunteer hours. Search "CFC Giving" in the app store.
